Professional Lifeguard Course - Great Summer Job!


Looking for a great summer job?  Join our Aquatics team as a lifeguard!  We are offering two opportunities this spring to earn your American Red Cross Lifeguard Course Certification (a requirement for all lifeguard positions).  

Location: Lodi High School Pool

The course is from 9am-7pm both days:
April 6 & 7 (Activity #: 0609.202)
April 27 & 28 (Activity #: 0609.203)

Course description:
Through videos, group discussion, and hands-on practice, you'll learn teamwork, rescue skills, surveillance skills, First Aid, CPR/AED and more!  These are all skills you will need to work as a professional lifeguard.  This course is blended learning, which means you will be required to complete a portion of the class online (approximately 8 hours, which can be started upon registration for the course).  Successful completion results in a 2-year certification in Lifeguarding that includes First Aid, professional-level CPR and AED in one certificate.

Registration fee: $275
Registration can be completed in person at our Parks & Rec Guest Services Office (230 W. Elm St.), at Hutchins Street Square Guest Services Desk (125 S. Hutchins St.) or online. A Legal Consent Waiver of Liability Form will need to be filled out and signed in person at one of our office locations (a parent or guardian must sign for any minors taking the course).

-Must be 15 years old
-Able to complete a 300-yard freestyle swim
-Tread water without hands for 2 minutes
-Retrieve a brick in 7 feet of water

Participants must attend both sessions, score at least an 80% on two written exams and pass the practical portion of the exam to receive certification.
