Adult Literacy Services is a free literacy instruction service provided by Lodi Public Library. The program offers adults a chance to improve their reading and writing. Come and be part of the library volunteer family and make a difference!
Adult learners in Lodi, together with volunteer tutors, improve their reading and writing skills so they can be more effective in their everyday lives at home, at work, and in their communities. An estimated 21% of adults in Lodi need help with basic reading and writing skills. Many adults have trouble with everyday tasks like reading a medicine label or writing a check. Imagine being able to read a book for the first time, voting, or taking a promotion instead of turning it down.
Library adult literacy programs throughout the state are making a difference! The following are stories from adult learners as well as volunteer tutors.
